The deep-sea submersible had to come up very early on today's dive due to hydraulic pressure leaking and other leak sensors going off on sub.

Fortunately there were no injuries and everything was working fine - it was determined that a faulty switch triggered the alarm.

The ALVIN will be back in action tomorrow morning!

For tonight's science lesson I decided to post an article written about one of the post-doctorate researchers on board - Emily Estes. She was recently featured in the magazine Oceanus, from Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. It is a short read, only 4 pages, but it explains extremely well the science she is doing while out here.
